Yoga found me!  For many years my friends had suggested that I tried yoga and that it would be good for me... as an exercise enthusiast and runner I thought it would be far too slow and boring for me.  That was however, until in 2006 when I was injured with a recurring hip-flexor issue and was unable to complete a race I had entered.  It was by chance that I came across a book called The Athletes Guide to Yoga by Sage Rountree whilst wandering and due to my injury I purchased the book thinking that it may help... after practicing everything in the book for a short while, my friend asked me to join her at her weekly yoga class... this was my turning point... yoga was my new best friend and I realised that it was the perfect addition to my weekly miles pounding the streets. No more injuries...

My practice started out with Sivananda yoga whilst spending some time in Spain with two beautiful teachers.  On my return my practice moved to Satyananda yoga and I spent some time teacher training at the Mandala Yoga Ashram in 2012.  I also completed my Sun Power yoga diploma in 2014 which suits my practice as it is a mix of Power yoga, Iyengar yoga and Ashtanga yoga.  I have also trained in Yoga Om the Ball, Aqua Yoga and Aerial Yoga.

For many years I taught various sessions at Om Yoga Works in Farsley including a yoga for athletes class and regular Om the Ball workshops before relocating to France and teaching at the beautiful Yoga de Bambous, Lessac in South West France.

As I enter my autumn years, my personal practice has reflected this and I now enjoy Hatha yoga and Vinyasa Flow which is reflected in my teaching also.  Ever the student I am always looking at ways to change and evolve; yoga has been my constant through the highs and lows of which life throws at us.

Everybody and Every Body is welcome to my classes.  I offer assistance and progression throughout the sessions, which means that beginners are also welcome as well as regular practitioners.  It's not all about being able to touch your toes... but it might just be that that happens along the way!

I look forward to seeing you all on the mat!

Namaste!
