Hana Osborne

I grew up in Hebden Bridge and, with a background in gymnastics, movement has always been a huge part of my life. For a long time, I didn't think yoga was for me. I gravitated towards fast-paced exercise, challenge, and somewhere to channel my energy. It wasn't until an injury led me to explore yoga more seriously that I discovered something I didn't know I was missing.

I began practising regularly while living in Bristol, at a time when I really needed grounding. What began as a physical practice soon became a space to slow down, reflect and reconnect with myself. Stillness and meditation once felt completely out of reach and coming from a gymnastics background, I was used to measuring progress through movement. Yoga introduced me to a different kind of practice, one that taught me there was just as much to learn in the pauses as there was in the poses.

As my practice evolved, so did my interest in the wider teachings of yoga. I was drawn to its philosophy and the way it offers practical tools for navigating everyday life. I completed my Foundation Yoga Teacher Training with Sammy Nwokeka and Sophie-Rae Martyn at Yoga Soul Manchester this year, and I continue to approach yoga as a lifelong student as much as a teacher.

I teach because I know what it feels like to think yoga isn't for you - and I love seeing that belief change. My classes are playful, welcoming and dynamic, balancing energetic flows with moments to pause. Rather than striving for perfection, I encourage students to be curious, have a laugh when things don't go to plan, and trust that every wobble is part of learning.

My favourite part of teaching is watching someone surprise themselves, whether that's finding strength they didn't know they had, holding a balance they didn’t think possible, enjoying a moment of stillness, or just leaving class feeling better than when they arrived.
You can join my class on the 7 th, 14 th and 28 th August from 6-7pm, and I hope to run a
regular class from October. Follow me on Instagram @hana.manasana for updates.
